Use

BIOBROM C-103ŪL is a 20% active proprietary end use formulation of DBNPA. It is used to control microbial, fungal and algal growth in industrial water systems such as cooling towers, evaporative condensers, pulp and papermill effluents, oil-recovery systems, metal-cutting coolants, air-conditioning systems (effective against Legionella). In the US, it is also approved for use in industrial preservation applications, and in disinfection of POTW (Publicly Owned Treatment Works) effluents.

Flammability and Explosivity Reactivity

BIOBROM C-103®L is non-flammable and non-explosive. In case of fire, it will start decomposing at about 70°C and release irritating toxic fumes. BIOBROM C-103®L is deactivated by sulfur-containing nucleophiles.

Toxicity

BIOBROM C-103®L is corrosive to the eyes, harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin.

Stability

It is stable in ambient conditions, but is sensitive to heat and light. At pH>9, BIOBROM C-103®L readily decomposes.

Storage and Handling

Store in the original, tightly-closed containers, in dry, dark and cool areas away from energy sources.

Packaging

BIOBROM C-103®L is marketed in 3000 gallon minimum bulk, 500 pound net polyethylene drums, customer supplied bins and 30, 15 and 5 gallon plastic containers.
