Iron Dispersants
Iron Sulfide Dissolver
Mid South Chemical's Iron Sulfide Dissolver is a 75% aqueous solution of THPS. Its corrosion inhibiting properties are linked to its ability to dissolve iron sulfide at low concentrations. Iron Sulfide Dissolver has an unusually benign toxicity profile to both humans and environmental species, and has been shown to be readily biodegradable. It can also be easily deactivated under controlled conditions.
When discharged from the treated system results in dilution of Iron Sulfide Dissolver to less than 1ppm, it degrades within minutes to a virtually non-toxic molecule, THPO. These properties result in safer handling and reduced environmental impact: two important factors influencing selection of corrosion inhibitors. Iron Sulfide Dissolver is miscible in all properties with most types of water, including seawater, and is compatible with a wide range of water treatment additives. It has a very low freeze point (-31C) that makes it ideal for application in colder climates. Concurrent dosing with surfactants or Mid South's PowerSperse, to solubilize inorganic salts can aid THPS penetration and removal of surface deposits that contribute to corrosion.
PowerSperse
Mid South's PowerSperse is an industrial inhibitor that is designed to prevent the formulation of water born scales in water system applications such as cooling, oil field and waste remediation systems. PowerSperse is composed of organic inhibitor components that increase the solubility of inorganic salts. It's chemical activity interferes with the crystalline structure of scale particles to reduce the potential for deposit formations on heat transfer surfaces. PowerSperse also dissolves ferrous iron and is recommended where higher concentrations of iron and other metallic oxides occur. In oil field applications, where iron sulfide occurs, PowerSperse is typically used along with Mid South's Iron Sulfide Dissolver.
ACUMER™ 4161
ACUMER™ 4161 is a phosphinopolycarboxylic acid scale inhibitor and dispersant that has a unique balance of threshold inhibition and dispersancy, and is resistant to chlorine and compatible with most microbiological control agents.
