USE

K-BROM T is a broad spectrum biocide for control of algal, bacterial and fungal slimes in industrial water systems, effective over a wide pH range (6-10).

APPEARANCE

Available as tablets (K-BROM T) weighing approx. 24g each and with a diameter of about 2.5 cm.

SOLUBILITY

K-BROM T is soluble in many organic solvents. In water: 0.2g/100g at 25ºC. Its dissolution rate is dependent on temperature.

INCOMPATIBILITY

Paints, petroleum and other combustible organic materials, organic and inorganic oxidizers.

FLAMMABILITY

K-BROM T is non-flammable. It is chemically stable at up to 160°C. At this temperature it will start to decompose, releasing toxic fumes.

CORROSIVITY

In normal use concentrations,K-BROM T solutions are not corrosive. At high concentrations however, K-BROM T is corrosive to most metals.

K-BROM T is toxic by inhalation, irritant to the skin, eyes and mucous membranes and is a mild skin sensitizer. Prolonged skin contact may cause reddening and superficial necrosis. Burns may be severe if skin is wet or damp.  K-BROM T is very toxic to aquatic organisms.

 

STORAGE AND HANDLING

Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from fire and oxidizable material. Use dry, clean clothing and equipment when handling K-BROM T. Avoid breathing dust and contact with the eyes and skin. Wear rubber or plastic gloves and safety glasses with side shields.

PACKAGING

Granulated and tableted material is supplied in 50 pound net plastic pails, 20 pails to a pallet.
